Akcan has spent 4.5 years working for McKinsey & Company’s Banking & Finance team in London and Dubai. During his tenure at McKinsey, Mr. Ak has advised major banks across Europe, APAC and the Middle East. Akcan is a Graduate in International Business and has a Masters degree in Investment and Finance. When not working, Akcan likes to socialize with family and friends and play sports.
Andy serves as Global head of operations for Fulcrum Capital. Andy spent the last 9+ years leading multiple revenue generating teams at Enverus. Enverus (formerly known as Drillinginfo) is the largest SaaS company solely dedicated to serving the energy market. Enverus was recently acquired by Hellman & Friedman, a premier global private equity firm. When not working, Andy loves spending time with his wife Jessica and his 2.5 year old son Hayes. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves being in the Texas hill country or on the coast fishing.
Based from the Austin office, Amelia Harris serves as Head of Operations for Fulcrum’s trading desk. She has 10 years of paralegal experience with knowledge in the areas of settlement negotiations, litigation, contract law, and personal injury. She played clarinet throughout college and obtained her bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a minor in English, in 2011, then went on to report for a mid-sized newspaper for several years before entering the legal field in 2013. In 2018, Amelia and her husband moved from Arkansas to Austin, where they now reside with their two toddler girls and two seventy-pound dogs. Amelia enjoys spending free time with her family.
Annie Wang – 王溪蔚
As a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting manager, Mrs. Wang has been managing the accounting function of Fulcrum Capital for 6 years. She monitors multiple financial procedures and ensured implementation of federal and state regulations. Mrs. Wang earned her MS in Accounting degree from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and has passed all four sections of the CPA exam.
Bankim Mitra – 班金 米恰.
Mr. Mitra serves as Managing Director and Head of EMEA Distribution at Fulcrum, and is based in London. He has 20 years of experience in Financial Markets. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Mr. Mitra was at HSBC Singapore, responsible for coverage of Institutional Clients across South East Asia. He has extensive experience in Sourcing and Distribution of Performing & Distressed Loans, Special Situations, Private Credit, Financing, Structured Credit and Bonds. Mr.Mitra is a CFA Charter holder and earned his MBA qualification from Indian Institute of Management and Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Delhi University.
Ben Chen – 陈堃
Prior to joining Fulcrum, Ben provided restructuring services as a senior manager of an international consulting firm. He is experienced in various judicial and administrative procedures. Ben spent over nine years managing banking NPLs, especially Non-performing assets in North China related to iron, steel, coke, real estate as well as processing and manufacturing industries. He is also well versed in developing turnaround strategies to improve assets value and mitigate risk for stakeholders by overseeing and being actively involved in due diligence, consulting design, commercial negotiation, timing, and cost controlling.
Mr. Whitty serves as Senior Vice President at Fulcrum Capital. Based in the London office he is responsible for sourcing and distribution across Europe. Mr. Whitty has over 19 years experience in the financial markets having spent the last decade in the global distressed/special situations space. Prior to joining Fulcrum, he spent the majority of his career working for a boutique investment firm in London which specializes in trading illiquid and distressed credit. He was responsible for sourcing bank debt and bankruptcy claims with a focus on Chapter 11 and Sovereign claims. Up until recently, he set up the distressed trading desk for a multinational brokerage firm covering NPL’s, single names & portfolios, special situations and Private Debt.
Mr. Foo serves as Senior Vice President at Fulcrum Capital in London, and is responsible for research coverage across the EMEA region. Prior to joining Fulcrum he co-established Morgan Stanley’s European Restructuring Team in London, where he was responsible for protecting the bank’s assets by maximizing recoveries through either formal or informal restructuring processes. With over 10 years’ experience in distressed debt, banking and risk management, he has also held various positions at Bank of America and National Australia Bank. A key part of Mr Foo’s focus at Fulcrum will be expanding our European research coverage and capabilities. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and is a graduate of the University of Melbourne with a degree in Commerce.
Mr. Morales is Senior Vice President of Legal and LatAm at Fulcrum Capital and is based out of Fulcrum’s headquarters in Austin, Texas. His practice focus is in legal claims and, regionally, in Latin America. Prior to transitioning to his current position, Mr. Morales was a part of Fulcrum’s legal department and held the position of Trade Desk Attorney. Mr. Morales is a member of the State Bar of California and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Mr. Shepherd serves as the Head of Distribution. Mr. Shepherd has over 18 years of experience in EM Credit trading markets. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Mr. Shepherd headed up the Asian credit trading operations at BGC Partners (a division of Cantor Fitzgerald). There he was responsible for flow trading of both Asian and Australasian securities, focusing on High Yield and Distressed products, as well as credit default swaps and both onshore RMB and Dim Sum credit products. Prior to Asia, Mr. Shepherd worked in London for Cantor Fitzgerald on the Emerging Market and Brady Bonds desk, covering Eastern European and LATAM credit.
Mr. Marta is based out of Fulcrum’s headquarters in Austin, Texas and serves as Vice President of sourcing for US-based opportunities. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Mr. Marta served as a Portfolio Manager for FLC Capital, a wealth management firm based in Southern California. Prior to that, Mr. Marta served as a senior analyst at Pacific Investment Management Company (“PIMCO”) for over 6 years. Mr. Marta is a member of the State Bar of California and earned his Juris Doctor from Trinity Law School and did his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona. In his spare time, Mr. Marta enjoys any time he gets with his wife and two young children, except for when they misbehave.
Diego has spent the last three years deeply involved in sales at fintech startups, primarily focused on alternative investments and secondary trades. Prior to that, he comes from a diverse professional background, spanning roles in Commercial Real Estate for a major conglomerate in El Salvador. Diego holds a Finance degree from the University of Notre Dame, and he furthered his education with a Masters from INCAE Business School and the University of Wisconsin. Beyond his career, Diego enjoys quality time with family and friends, cooking, the outdoors, and geopolitics.
Ms. Rosenzweig joined Fulcrum Capital in 2018. Her role as Marketing Director focuses on overseeing and managing all company marketing initiatives, planning the execution of highly targeted email marketing campaigns and increasing overall brand awareness. Prior to joining Fulcrum Capital, Ms. Rosenzweig was the Marketing Director for Far West Capital in Austin, Texas. Before her move to Austin, Jennifer lived in Houston, Texas serving as the Marketing Director at the Houston Zoo. She attended the University of Hartford with a B.A. in Communications.
When not busy marketing Fulcrum Capital, Jennifer spends her time with her teenage twin girls in Austin, Texas.
Kanika joined Fulcrum in 2017 and focuses on sourcing EMEA and APAC markets from Dubai. Kanika has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry including private banking, portfolio management and credit/ risk services prior to joining Fulcrum. Kanika is a CFA Charter holder and graduated with distinction from the University of Wollongong in Dubai with a degree in Finance.
Mr. Anderson joined Fulcrum in 2019. His role focuses primarily on sourcing US-based investments. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Mr. Anderson was a financial advisor at Equitable Advisors, LLC. He attended the University of Texas at Austin on a diving scholarship and graduated with a B.A. in Economics. While at the University of Texas, the Longhorn Swimming and Diving team earned 3 consecutive NCAA National Championships. Mr. Anderson also serves on the Board of Directors of USA Diving, a non-profit that is dedicated to building the sport to achieve sustained Olympic success.
Mr. Hamilton has over 18 years of experience in the global distressed market. Prior to founding Fulcrum, he was a Managing Director and Head of Private Debt Trading for APS Capital Corp., a distressed investment boutique focusing on trade claims and bank debt research, sales and trading. Mr. Hamilton started his career at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld, LLP working in the firm’s corporate and securities section. He attended San Jose State University on a Division I baseball scholarship and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Administration of Justice and a concentration in Finance. He is also a graduate of UC Hastings Law School where he earned his J.D. Mr. Hamilton serves on the Board of Directors of CASA of Travis County, a non-profit that serves and advocates for abused and neglected children.
Melvin Tan – 陈尧龙
Mr. Melvin serves as Managing Director at Fulcrum Capital in Singapore and has over 16 years of experience in the regional APAC distressed market. Prior to joining Fulcrum, his key role was to manage and maximize recovery from distressed assets and non-performing loans for banks in Singapore. Mr. Melvin started his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young before specializing in both Creditor and Debtor led restructuring workouts, turnaround advisory and formal insolvency appointments. Mr. Melvin obtained his bachelor’s degree with honors in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
Mr. Russolino serves as Managing Director at Fulcrum Capital. Mr. Russolino plays an integral role in the sourcing and distribution of Fulcrum’s investment opportunities across US, European and Latin American-based markets. Prior to joining Fulcrum in 2019, Mr. Russolino served as a senior institutional sales associate in the SMID-cap space, providing coverage and idea generation to portfolio managers at some of the largest hedge fund and mutual fund companies in the United States. In his previous role, Mr. Russolino spent much of his time traveling the country alongside C-Suite executives of multi-billion-dollar public companies. Mr. Russolino earned his Masters in Finance from Tulane University and graduated with honors in Finance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Mr. Dresslar joined Fulcrum in 2020 as Associate General Counsel. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Mr. Dresslar was an attorney at a leading law firm in Austin, Texas and, before that, at an international law firm in Dallas, Texas, where his practice focused on complex commercial disputes, risk assessment, and compliance matters. Mr. Dresslar earned both his J.D. and B.S. (Communications) from the University of Texas. Mr. Dresslar is a member in good standing of the Texas bar.
Rutchel serves as an Administrative Assistant at Fulcrum’s Dubai office. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Rutchel has served as a Personal/ Executive assistant and Avionics specialist for a flight school founder, providing support in the development of exceptional young pilots for the Philippine flag carrier, Philippine Airlines. She later transitioned to a Properties/ Facilities Administrator role where she assisted global companies with their property needs for 9 years, managing the intricate details that keep businesses running smoothly.
Rutchel holds a diploma in Aviation Engineering. In her free time, Rutchel engages in research and evaluation projects as a hobby, where she conducts assessments, determines opportunities for improvement, and implements strategies to enhance business operations across various industries, including banks, mortgage facilities, properties, 5-star hotels, fine dining restaurants, high end retails, food chains, insurance companies, and courts, etc
Mrs. Zawel serves as Trade Desk Attorney at Fulcrum. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Mrs. Zawel worked in the legal department at ArcLight Capital Partners, a Boston-based private equity company focused on the energy sector. Mrs. Zawel earned her JD and MBA (Leadership) from Pepperdine University and her BBA (Marketing) from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. Mrs. Zawel is a member in good standing of the Texas Bar.
Mr. King serves as Director of Research at Fulcrum. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Mr. King was a senior analyst at Beach Point Capital Management LP, a credit hedge fund focused on stressed/distressed opportunities, where he invested across the capital structure and participated on creditor committees. Before Beach Point, Mr. King was an analyst at Monarch Alternative Capital LP, where he analyzed and invested in distressed/event-driven opportunities. Prior to Monarch, Mr. King worked in the Recapitalization and Restructuring group at Jefferies & Company, where he helped guide numerous debtors and creditor committees through restructurings as a financial advisor. Mr. King graduated with a degree in Economics from Harvard University.
Mr. Horrigan has over 24 years of experience in the global distressed market. Prior to founding Fulcrum, he was a Senior Vice President on the Credit Sales and Trading desk at APS Financial. Prior to joining APS, Mr. Horrigan worked in the Mortgage Strategies group at PaineWebber. He earned his MBA from the University of Texas and graduated with honors from the Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to beginning his career in finance, Mr. Horrigan worked as an Aerospace Structural Design Engineer for both General Dynamics and NASA.
Timothy C. Bennett is an attorney with over twenty years of experience in sophisticated international corporate, finance, and bankruptcy related transactions. He joined Fulcrum Capital as general counsel in 2017. Presently, Mr. Bennett manages the day to day transactional, litigation, and regulatory/compliance affairs for Fulcrum globally and serves as the risk manager for Fulcrum’s investment committee. Before Fulcrum, Mr. Bennett was senior counsel at Seyfarth Shaw and the leader of that firm’s Global Distressed, Illiquid, and Special Situations Trading group. Prior to that role, he was an associate in the banking and finance group in the New York office of Clifford Chance. Mr. Bennett has recent significant experience in transactions involving, among other areas, distressed loans, bankruptcy claims, litigation finance, receivables factoring, sovereign debt and cryptocurrency. Mr. Bennett received his JD and MBA (Finance) from Seton Hall University and his BA (History) from the College of the Holy Cross. Mr. Bennett is presently admitted to practice law in the State of New York and Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He resides in Andover, MA, with his wife, three children, and beagle, where he is a youth hockey coach, president of the Andover Hockey Association, and a religious education teacher at St. Augustine’s Church.
Mr. Petrus joined Fulcrum in 2019 and serves as Vice President responsible for EMEA opportunities coverage. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Mr. Petrus spent his internship at Greylock Capital, New York, covering distressed and high-yield debt in Europe, Africa, and Middle East. Before that, Viktor spent 5 years as a portfolio manager of the second-largest corporate pension fund in Ukraine and has additional 6 years of experience in sales & trading. Mr. Petrus received his MBA degree from Johnson School of Management (Cornell).
